PARSOL Deliverables - Knowledge Management

This project has examined existing Knowledge Management systems in relation to the planning and regulatory communities and tested those systems against the requirements of the planning and regulatory communities. It has produced recommendations about how Knowledge Management systems can be applied to these service areas.

  • the KM systems available in the wider market place, their key features and existing markets.
  • the KM systems currently used by the planning and regulatory communities.
  • the benefits, problems and issues involved in implementing and developing KM systems.
  • description of the scenario test carried out on the KM systems and the degree to which the system meets the needs of the planning and regulatory communities.
  • the skills, technical resources and costs involved in the implementation and development of a KM system.

  Demonstrator solutions workshop - Power Point Presentation    
  The workshop was to give a brief overview of Knowledge Management and to assist the participating authorities in the identification of the elements needed in their technical infrastructure to enable them to achieve the functionality required to implement expert systems.

The authorities who participated were Wandsworth, Birmingham, Waverley and Enfield.
