PARSOL has developed a wide range of products to assist the delivery of the planning and regulatory services. The programme team will be seeking to maximise rollout across English authorities during 2004/05. Where possible, this work will involve hosting implementation workshops, priority services workshops, provision of assistance to early adopters and provision of accredited consultancy.

The delivery of the PARSOL products is organised into three streams:

• Planning Services
• Regulatory Services
• PARSOL Exchange (e-Consultation)

Products delivered in the PARSOL Exchange Services stream include:

  PARSOL Exchange for Planning Applications
Centrally hosted service permitting the electronic exchange of data between signed-up parties for consultation purposes. Pilot implementation of the service is provided to allow electronic consultation on Planning Applications. The initial pilot will link a small number of PARSOL partner authorities and the Environment Agency with the central exchange hub.

  PARSOL Exchange for Local Development Plans
Centrally hosted service permitting the electronic exchange of data between signed-up parties for consultation purposes. Pilot implementation of the service is provided to allow electronic publication and consultation on Local Development Plans. The initial pilot will link a small number of PARSOL partner authorities and the Environment Agency with the central exchange hub.

  Enhanced LGOL.Net Messaging Middleware
Enhanced LGOL.net messaging middleware product. The basic LGOL.Net product has been enhanced using PARSOL specifications for workflow functionality. This has enabled complex handling of messages, including message splitting, compiling and management to be handled in an efficient manner within the "free to use" LGOL.Net software. Available from LAWS National Project.

  Service Implementation Toolkits
Practical and clearly defined set of guidance toolkits providing advice on service implementation around PARSOL products. Each toolkit covers aspects such as business case, benefits, business options, technical options and advice on implementation issues.

Additional products remain relevant to all delivery streams. These include the ICT Usage Survey (MORI), Best Practice Review (Hedra), Website Review (Peter Pendleton Associates), XML Schemas and technical research into Knowledge Management and Mobile Technology.
